Experience the flavours, scenery and local stories of the Sapphire Coast on this delightful tasting tour, combining an authentic oyster farm experience with a relaxed winery visit.
Begin at Captain Sponge Magical Oyster Tours, where you'll explore beautiful Pambula Lake aboard an oversized oyster punt. Learn about the region's rich oyster farming traditions, the unique river estuary environment and the natural and cultural features that make this area so special.
Enjoy a hands-on oyster farm experience, including a shucking demonstration and the opportunity to shuck and taste fresh oysters right on the water. Discover the journey from farm to plate while taking in the peaceful beauty of the lake and its surrounds.
Continue to a local winery for a relaxed wine tasting experience. Sample four local wines accompanied by olives, local cheese and crackers while enjoying the welcoming atmosphere of a boutique winery. This enjoyable excursion offers a wonderful introduction to the region's renowned food and wine culture, complemented by stunning scenery and local insight along the way.
Notes:
Minimum age to participate in the wine tasting is 18 years and guests must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older.
Shade is limited. Guests are encouraged to wear light, long clothing suitable for sun protection and bring a hat, sunglasses, biodegradable sunscreen and bottled water.
Wineries may be substituted with suitable alternatives.
Tour-related wine purchased on this tour is exempt from the onboard corkage fee, limited to one bottle of wine per person.
During high tide on Pambula Lake, guests may need to board from the jetty over the side of the vessel. While not a difficult movement for most guests, it may present challenges for those with limited or restricted mobility.
