Relax as the Cat Balou cruises Twofold Bay. You'll be surrounded by Ben Boyd National Park and a state forest on your boat cruise, which offers stunning scenery as well as pristine bays and beaches. The cruise highlights the history of this whaling port, with views of Boyd's Tower, the Seahorse Inn at Boydtown, Edrom Lodge and former whaling station sites.
At this time of the year majestic humpback whales frequent the waters just off the coast of Eden, sometimes coming into Twofold Bay on their southern migration. Other species of whale that also visit this area include southern right, minke, blue, Bride's and orca whales. This is one of the few places in the world where whales can be seen engaging in lateral lunge feeding behaviors.
Common and bottlenose dolphins, Australian fur seals, penguins, flying fish, sunfish and turtles are sometimes seen also.
Notes:
Tour does not operate on holidays. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a jacket, as it can be cooler on the water. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
