Drive through the city of Tromsø to the Polaria Arctic Experience Center. The center focuses on the polar regions — even the building itself stands out from the surrounding architecture, resembling blocks of ice sliding out into the ocean.
View the exhibits and peer into the various aquariums and touch pools that showcaselife in polar waters. Admire the live seals in one of the large aquariums. There is also a specially-designed cinema showing two beautiful panoramic films on a 69-foot-wide screen.
En route back to the ship, stop at Tromsdalen Church — the Arctic Cathedral — on the mainland. The church has Europe's largest stained-glass window (1,500 square feet), depicting the Return of Christ.
