This walking adventure begins in the heart of Hammerfest, venturing through the outskirts before following charming footpaths that lead into the seemingly untouched Arctic wilderness. As the bustle of the city fades away, you'll cross babbling brooks and glistening ponds, with a chance to spot reindeer, grouse, and perhaps even eagles along the way.
Your hike continues to the steep slopes of Mount Tyven, where you'll ascend via a stone staircase laid by Sherpas. Upon reaching the summit, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the fjords, islands, and the vast Arctic Ocean. Enjoy a well-deserved break here with a snack and time to savor the stunning scenery.
As you descend, follow an old, now-closed gravel road that leads away from the sights of town and into the serene Arctic tundra that dominates this landscape at 70° North.
Throughout the hike, your experienced guide will make frequent stops to ensure everyone can keep pace and share fascinating stories about the history, culture, and the remarkable surrounding nature.
