Here's some hiking fun with a four-legged buddy. In the Finnmark region, high reliance on the Siberian husky and other polar dogs means a close bond between people and their dogs. Today's outing starts with an introduction to this amazing breed.
Your guide matches you up with a furry friend suited to your personality. Don't be fooled by your dog's wild appearance — these are sociable, fun-loving animals that love to be petted and praised. Once you're paired with your perfect pooch, set off on a hike to learn all about the dogs, Finnmark, the climate here, the White Nights and the harsh winter, and the lovely summer weather that hopefully makes itself known today.
Notes:
Participants must be physically fit. One dog accompanies each two guests; you will trade back and forth holding the harness leash. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wear sturdy non-skid walking/hiking shoes.
