Board a motorized boat with a friendly local crew for an unforgettable lagoon cruise around Huahine Iti — the smaller of the two islands that comprise Huahine.
Watch for Motu Murimahora as you trace the fringing reef toward the south of the island. You'll pause here to take photos of the Marae Anini archaeological site.
Cruise across the turquoise lagoon toward Avea Bay, keeping an eye out for various sting ray, turtle, and other wildlife species. The local crew provides commentary, including legends and history, and you'll enjoy a snack of fruit and juices. Musical entertainment and coconut-husking demonstrations, pareo tying, basket weaving and traditional Tahitian dances provide a glimpse of island customs.
Having completed a circumnavigation, your last photo stop is at Haapu Bay. Then, you will pass under the Maroe Bridge joining Huahine Iti to the larger island Huahine Nui and return to the ship.
Notes:
Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
