Embark on a memorable birding adventure with Labrador Adventure Birding as we travel from Red Bay toward Quebec, exploring some of the region’s most remarkable habitats. Your journey begins at the pier, where we set out along Battery Road, an area known for sightings of Willow Ptarmigan and the elusive Gray-cheeked Thrush. The landscape here offers ideal conditions for these species, making it a rewarding first stop.
We’ll continue to a local ski trail nestled within the boreal forest. This peaceful setting is a wonderful place to encounter the charming Canada Jay and the Boreal Chickadee, two friendly residents of the region’s woodlands. From there, we make our way to the iconic Point Amour Lighthouse. Its dramatic coastal views provide excellent opportunities to observe seabirds, and with a bit of luck, you may even spot whales passing offshore.
As we travel between stops, keep your eyes open for breeding Blackpoll Warblers, Alder Flycatchers, and the secretive Spruce Grouse, which favors the dense cover of the boreal forest. Time permitting, we may extend our journey into Quebec to visit a vibrant colony of Puffins, Razorbills, and Murres—an unforgettable highlight for bird enthusiasts.
Lunch will be provided so you can relax and fully enjoy the sights, sounds, and wildlife around you. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the incredible moments along the way.
