Leaving the pier, travel by island bus to the eastern side of the island.
There will be several stops en route, including one at Camel Rock. This interesting rock formation resembles a lonely camel, and lies close to the shores of Lauli'i Village.
This is a whistle-stop tour — if you see something along the way that you'd like to look at, just ask the driver to stop for a few minutes.
At the easternmost tip of the Tutuila, you'll turn back, stopping briefly at Amouli Beach along the way. This brief stop will give you the chance to take a quick dip in the beautiful crystal clear water. Your local tour guides will perform a few Samoan dances and local men will demonstrate husking of a coconut.
Notes:
Transportation is by basic island bus with no air-conditioning or PA system. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here; you are trading breadth of guide experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties or operational surprises that may crop up.
