Upon arrival, your first stop is at Tra Viet — a traditional Vietnamese tea house. Here, get acquainted with the rich cultural heritage of lotus tea as you watch a skilled tea artisan brewing tea from within fresh lotus buds. Then, taste the delicate Tay Ho Lotus Tea, and even try your hand at scenting your tea with lotus petals. You'll also learn the intricate process of inserting tea leaves into real lotus flowers with guided instruction.
At one of Saigon's renowned vegan restaurants, explore the vibrant world of Vietnamese plant-based cuisine. A whole food, plant-based diet — endorsed by medical professionals and supported by numerous studies — claims to promote health and help prevent or reverse conditions such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers.
Using locally sourced ingredients, the meal showcases a balanced combination of whole grains, organic vegetables, beans, seaweeds, nuts, seeds, seasonal fruits, and spices, all ideal for growing in the tropical climate of Saigon.
Return to the ship, enriched by a day of cultural and culinary discovery.
