Spend the day on the Isle of Capri -- an island in the sun that boasts plenty of Greek and Roman influence.
A 25-minute jet boat ride brings you to Marina Grande -- the Old Port lined with colorful fishermen's houses -- a favorite with European visitors. To the west lies the peak of Monte Solaro, to the east lies the hill of San Michele.
Board a local minibus for the transfer along the winding road that climbs through vine-covered slopes of terraced gardens and stunning villas en route to the town of Anacapri. Here, you'll visit the Villa San Michele -- the beautiful home of Swedish physician and author Axel Munte. The house features an interesting collection of antiques. From the grounds, you will have fabulous views of Faraglioni -- the picturesque rock outcropping that is an iconic symbol of Capri.
Lunch, consisting of local specialties, is served at a restaurant in Capri or Anacapri.
Make the most of a short time allocated for souvenir shopping in Anacapri; then you'll proceed by local minibus to Capri Town. Wander the streets near Capri Town's main square -- La Piazzetta. The square is always very crowded -- it is the bustling epicenter of Capri's commercial activity. Superb old buildings and sidewalk cafés rest in the shadow of the cathedral and campanile (bell tower). You may choose to remain in the square or visit the Gardens of Augustus at your own expense. These gardens, founded by Caesar Augustus himself, are filled with many species of colorful plants.
Explore the chic boutiques of Capri town at your leisure. A walking tour leads you back through the streets of Capri to the funicular railway. This returns you to the marina below and the jet boat takes you back to Sorrento.

Expect crowding in Capri Town and a delay at the funicular, minibus and jet boat boarding areas. Guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication.
