This tailor-made, two-hour coastal wilderness cruise showcases the spectacular coastline of the Tasman Peninsula, including towering sea cliffs (among the highest in the Southern Hemisphere), sea caves, and dramatic rock formations. You will also have the opportunity to encounter abundant wildlife such as seals, dolphins, migrating whales, and seabirds including albatross.
This custom-built boat is ideal for viewing the spectacular coastline and wildlife, with covered open-air seating that provides an excellent all-around view and a connection with the environment.
Few places on Earth boast such a wide variety of marine wildlife and seabirds. The Continental Shelf runs close to Tasman Island, and an upwelling of nutrients from the ocean's depths creates a buffet for all the creatures in the complex food chain of the sea, from plankton and birdlife — such as albatross — to sharks, dolphins and southern right whales.
Notes:
Minimum age is 3 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Participants must have a degree of agility to (dis)embark the boat and be in good physical condition. To avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Ride will be bumpy. Guests who are pregnant or have a heart, back, or neck condition are not allowed to participate. The route is dependent on weather conditions and is subject to change. Guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication.
