Explore the ancient ice floes of the Stikine LeConte Wilderness area — a true outback experience — with a scenic jet boat ride aboard the Chutine Warrior or Alpine Warrior. Each river-capable jet boat has an onboard marine restroom, a heated cabin, large windows for viewing, a spacious back deck, tables and a galley — ideal for this pristine wilderness. Your Alaskan guides create an exceptional tour experience, sharing the geology and natural history of the area.
Cruise through iceberg-studded waters on your way to the face of the Le Conte Glacier or Shakes Glacier. Step onto the back deck to breathe in the crisp glacial air and immerse yourself in the nature that surrounds you. Listen and watch for chunks of ice calving from its face. This encounter with nature is quite mesmerizing.
Inside, warm up with hors d'oeuvres featuring wild Alaskan smoked salmon and still and sparkling wines.
Please note: Minimum age is 8 years. Minimum height is 3'0". Maximum weight is 300 lbs. Not suitable for guests with a back condition. Guests prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. In addition to the snack, bottled water and soda are available. Access to the face of the glacier depends on ice conditions; calving may be seen, but is not guaranteed. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
