Join an experienced Alaskan trail guide for a ride through the unspoiled beauty of Ketchikan's coastal rainforest.
Gear up with an electric mountain bike (e-bike) and helmet; then, set out with your guide. You'll ride beneath towering old-growth Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and cedar trees on an approximately six-mile round-trip journey through one of the world's largest temperate rainforests.
Several stops along the route allow your guide to share insights into local wildlife, rainforest ecology, logging history, and the natural wonders of Southeast Alaska.
Keep an eye out for Sitka black-tailed deer, beaver activity, wildflowers, berries, and mushrooms depending on the season.
At Talbot Lake, enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness and a relaxing refreshment break before returning via the gently sloping historical trail that weaves through the Tongass National Forest under cover of towering old-growth giants.
Conclude with the scenic drive back to the pier, narrated by your guide.
