The 133-day Grand World Voyage set sail from Fort Lauderdale and the 93-day Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage left from San Diego
Seattle, Wash., Jan. 6, 2026 — It was a celebratory send-off this weekend for two Holland America Line Grand Voyages, both departing Jan. 4 from opposite coasts of the United States. Sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the 133-day Grand World Voyage embarked on an extraordinary journey, while the 93-day Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage departed from San Diego, California, setting course across the Pacific Ocean on a roundtrip itinerary. Guests were welcomed by each ship’s captain, hotel general manager and members of the onboard leadership team, setting the tone for the remarkable adventures ahead.
The two Grand Voyages exemplify Holland America Line’s commitment to immersive, destination-rich travel. Thoughtfully crafted to allow guests to explore the world at an unhurried pace, these extended itineraries offer meaningful time ashore and carefully curated experiences that bring each destination to life.
“We’ve been sailing the globe for more than 150 years, and our Grand Voyages really showcase what makes the Holland America Line experience so special,” said Michael Smith, senior vice president of guest experience and product development. “The length of these journeys allows our team to create experiences that unfold at a relaxing and meaningful pace, and our guests settle into a rhythm of discovery that simply isn’t possible on shorter sailings. For many, this becomes the trip of a lifetime — a chance to see the world in comfort, in community and with a sense of wonder that grows with every new port.”
A Grand Onboard Experience
Every Holland America Line Grand Voyage is distinguished by a collection of exclusive onboard experiences created especially for extended journeys. Guests enjoy elegant theme parties and robust entertainment and enrichment programming available only on Grand Voyages. Specially curated events and visiting experts enhance the cruises, allowing guests to connect more deeply with the cultures and flavors of the regions on the itinerary.
On the Grand World Voyage, Volendam will welcome Culinary Ambassadors Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Chef Ethan Stowell and Master Tea Blender and Art of Tea Founder Steve Schwartz. Each will host signature experiences, including private dinners, “coffee chats” and cooking demonstrations or tea tastings, sharing their culinary artistry, knowledge and passion with guests.
As an added highlight, the two Grand Voyages will meet March 7 in Sydney, Australia, where famed Chocolatier Jaques Torres will host a decadent Chocolate Teatime, giving guests from both ships a chance to meet up and enjoy specially crafted chocolate creations.
Prior to departure, guests were alerted about themed events so those who wanted to dress for the occasion could do so. Both ships will host several balls and parties, including a Great Gatsby Night, Masquerade Ball, Casino Royale party and a Glamp Out complete with s’mores on Lido deck.
Together, these exclusive elements create a special onboard atmosphere and a strong sense of community, ensuring each Grand Voyage is as enriching at sea as it is ashore.
