After a short transfer from the pier, you'll have time to explore the Gypsy Cove Nature Reserve at your own pace. Follow the well-marked nature trail through a protected landscape of white-sand beaches, rolling coastal terrain, and native vegetation while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding coastline.
The trail leads to viewing areas overlooking Magellanic Penguin burrows, offering the opportunity to observe these charming birds in their natural habitat while maintaining a respectful distance. Along the route, informative interpretive panels provide insights into the area's history, wildlife, and unique ecosystem, allowing you to learn more about the Falklands as you explore.
In addition to Magellanic Penguins, the reserve is home to an impressive variety of birdlife. Species frequently seen in the area include Falkland Flightless Steamer Ducks, Upland Geese, Falkland Thrushes, Long-tailed Meadowlarks, Dark-faced Ground Tyrants, Southern Giant Petrels, Rock Cormorants, Black-throated Finches, and many others. With the possibility of spotting numerous species, this excursion is ideal for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and photographers alike.

This excursion features a self-guided walk along established nature trails with gentle gradients and some uneven natural surfaces. Guests should be comfortable walking at their own pace and standing for periods while enjoying wildlife viewing and scenic overlooks. We suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes and wearing layers. Wheelchairs are not permitted.
