Experience the natural beauty of the Falkland Islands on this rewarding guided coastal walk, offering the opportunity to search for Magellanic Penguins and a remarkable variety of native birdlife in one of Stanley's most scenic locations.
Following a short transfer, you'll be accompanied by an expert local guide as you make your way to Hadassa Bay. From here, set out on a scenic walk along the rugged coastline toward the beautiful beaches of Gypsy Cove, one of the Falklands' most picturesque wildlife areas.
Along the route, your guide will share fascinating insights into the islands' unique ecosystem and help you identify the wildlife that calls this remote environment home. Guests will receive an illustrated wildlife checklist and may have the opportunity to spot Magellanic Penguins, Falkland Flightless Steamer Ducks, Upland Geese, Southern Giant Petrels, Rock Cormorants, Falkland Thrushes, Black-throated Finches, Long-tailed Meadowlarks, and many other species. The area also offers spectacular panoramic views across the coastline and toward Stanley, making this excursion a favorite for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Important notes:
This excursion is designed for very active guests who are comfortable walking over uneven natural terrain. The tour includes approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of brisk walking along rough coastal paths, with sections of uneven ground throughout. Due to the pace and terrain, guests must be in excellent physical condition and able to walk independently without assistance. Walking aids of any kind cannot be accommodated on this tour. Weather changes throughout the day, we suggest layered clothing, comfortable walking shoes, and hat and gloves. Wildlife sightings, including penguins, are common but cannot be guaranteed. Minimum age is 8 years.
