Welcome aboard the Ocean Bus — sightseeing with a twist as you experience Stockholm from both land and water in a single amphibious vehicle.
See many of Stockholm's best-known attractions as your guide tells you fun and interesting tales about Sweden and its capital city.
Enjoy panoramic sightseeing in the city center and the Östermalm area before heading to the diplomatic quarter for a splashdown. It's quite a thrill when the driver/captain drives your 10-ton bus into the water.
Cruise the canal of Djurgården, under bridges and past Skeppsholmen, the Vasa Museum, and the amusement park at Gröna Lund.
Back on dry land, you'll drive along the exclusive Strandvägen before ending your tour at Strömgatan.
Next, board the City Sightseeing Hop-On, Hop-Off bus to see the sights and highlights of Stockholm at your own pace. With your ticket, you can hop on and off the double-decker bus at your leisure. Enjoy excellent views from the upper deck or ease of access on the lower deck. Extensive multi-lingual audio commentary is available through individual headphones.
A circuit, including 17 stops at important landmarks, museums and public spaces, allows you to see whatever interests you. Sights accessible from the stops include the Old Town, City Hall, the Royal Palace, Fjällgatan, Skansen and ABBA The Museum.
Notes:
The steps to board the amphibious vehicle are steeper than those in a regular motorcoach. The tour will end at Strömgatan in the Old Town, opposite the Opera House. Guest must make their own way back to the pier. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the Ocean Bus. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The bus is a hop-on, hop-off service and is not exclusive to Holland America Line guests; the tour is open to the general public. The tour is unguided; you are merely purchasing a ticket for the bus service. You must exchange your voucher for a hop-on, hop-off ticket with the bus driver upon boarding the first bus. A clean headset is issued to you at the beginning of your tour, and you will keep it for the duration. Expect traffic delays and possible wait times at the stops associated with the service. It is your responsibility to return to the ship before all-aboard time. Entrance fees to attractions along the route are not included. Due to the nature of this tour, there will be no refunds. Where applicable, participants must climb steps to reach the bus' upper level. Tour duration varies based on your choice of stops and time spent at each. The entire bus loop without hopping off is approximately 1.5 hours Tour sequence may vary. Bring local currency or credit cards, as most vendors do not accept US dollars. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Multi-port packages and discounts for students and seniors are not available on board the ship. Entrance fees to attractions along the route are not included. Walking is at your discretion.
