Experience the wonderful fjord and mountain views of Romsdalen in a new way.
A short walk from the ship brings you to the Romsdals Gondola — a modern electric shuttle that takes you from the fjord all the way up to the top of the mountain that rises behind the city. Take in the 360-degree view of the impressive Romsdalshorn, the Vengetindene, the center of Åndalsnes, lush valleys, and the emerald-green Rauma River from the top.
Atop the mountain, enjoy a locally brewed coffee and a special delicacy — brown cheese ice cream produced right here in the Åndalsnes region. It's a favorite with the locals.
Take time to explore the area with its well-planned trails leading to several viewpoints; then, take the gondola back down.
Time permitting, guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
