Travel north on the N2 National Road, passing Hluhluwe en route to the Zulu Nyala Private Game Reserve. Zulu Nyala provides a tantalizing taste of the African bush in the heart of one of South Africa's most diverse conservation regions. This small section of paradise is home to a wide variety of game, from majestic elephants, rhino, buffalo and leopard to abundant plains game and more than 400 species of birdlife.
Upon arrival at the lodge, transfer from your coach to a 4-wheel-drive open vehicle and set out on a two-hour game drive through the bush. Your ranger-guide will point out a wide variety of wildlife.
At the end of the drive, enjoy lunch and a beverage at the open-air boma (weather permitting) at the Zulu Nyala Heritage Hotel.
Then, re-board the coach for the return to Richards Bay.
Notes:
Participants are not allowed to use cell phones during the game drive, or to speak loudly or stand up in the game drive vehicle, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted. Guests with mobility limitations could encounter difficulties getting in and out of the open vehicle. The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game drive can be bumpy. Not suitable for guests with back or neck conditions. Wear comfortable clothing; bring binoculars and water. Bring a hat; wear sunscreen and sunglasses. Minimum age is 6 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
