Arica, the City of Eternal Spring, is a city both traditional and modern.
Your tour will visit the Morro Promontory to see the Arms Museum, whose exhibits provide insight into the War of the Pacific between Peru and Chile. View the 1876 Gothic-style San Marco Church and its beautiful door made by the famous Gustave Eiffel et Cie workshops.
Continue on to the San Miguel Museum in Azapa to see its fine collection of pre-Columbian artifacts. The mummy room features exhibits dating back to 5000 BC.
Finally, you'll visit the handicrafts market, which is a replica of a Parinacota-region village, complete with knitted articles, ceramics, pottery, carved stones and ocarinas.
Notes:
Due to the intense traffic in the city, this tour may take up to 4 ½ hours. The inside visit to the Arms Museum is not part of the tour. However, guests can visit during their free time at Morro site at no cost.
