This scenic walk offers a comfortable and engaging way to experience the natural surroundings of Måløy and is well suited to those seeking a light and enjoyable shore excursion
Transfer to a trailhead by comfortable electric minibus. From here, your guided hike around Skramsvatnet begins on a wide, easy-to-walk gravel path suitable for most fitness levels.
The trail follows the shoreline of a calm lake through a green, open landscape, with surrounding mountain terrain.
Views of the fjord and the coastal town of Måløy gradually open up. Along the way, your guide shares stories about the area's history, local life, and wildlife, adding context to the landscape.
A key stop on the tour is the viewpoint at Ellingskarhornet — the Horn. From here, take in a broad vista over the town, the harbor, and the surrounding coastline.
Continue along the same gravel path through forested sections and open rocky areas before returning to the trailhead and transferring back to the ship.
Notes:
The route is mostly level with no steep ascents. Wear sturdy non-skid walking or hiking shoes. Tour requires approximately 1½ hours of walking. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces and gravel. Participants must be fully mobile. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed. Bring bottled water. Minimum age is 12 years. Be prepared for sudden changes in weather and temperature.
