Travel 45 minutes by water taxi along the coast of the Southeast Peninsula to St Kitts' sister island of Nevis, widely known as the Queen of the Caribbean.
A short drive through Charlestown, the tranquil capital, provides a glimpse of a simple but civilized Caribbean lifestyle and architecture. You will see the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton -- Secretary of the US Treasury.
Take the main road to Nevis Bath Springs. This natural hot spring flows from the ground, signifying underlying geothermal activity. The bath is set on the grounds of the historic Bath Hotel, which is said to have been the first hotel in the Eastern Caribbean. It provides a beautiful view of Charlestown, the Caribbean Sea, and the coast of St Kitts.
Your native guide imparts the history of Nevis as you travel to Pinney's Beach. A delicious lunch is served here at Lime Beach Bar, located on the beach. Sip on your choice of rum punch, local beer or fruit punch at this traditional Caribbean-style establishment (two drinks per person included).
Enjoy time on the beach and the view of the serene Caribbean Sea. A beach chair awaits you for an afternoon in the sun.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
