Enjoy some city sights and highlights as you leave Sydney and pass through the historical Whitney Pier area. Heading out into the countryside, listen to stories about Nova Scotia's deep-rooted mining and maritime heritage.
A picturesque drive through South Bar leads to Fort Petrie, a World War II coastal defense site. Take photos here and breathe in the fresh ocean air. From afar, catch a glimpse of Low Point Lighthouse.
Continue along the coastline of New Victoria before arriving at Colliery Lands Park — a commemorative park situated on former mining sites. Take a walk to view historic monuments, including a decommissioned coal train, paying tribute to the town's coal mining industry.
Travel along Lingan Road to return to Sydney for a panoramic drive through its city center. On Charlotte Street, watch for Jost House and Cossit House — among the oldest wooden homes in Sydney. These showcase Loyalist-era architecture and the development of the early Cape Breton colony.
