This unique experience invites you to
encounter and capture the typical life
of the Penang folks as you cruise the
colorful streets of Chinatown and
Little India in your very own trishaw!
This unhurried ride on a trishaw,
commonly referred to as the "King of
the Road" is an experience not to be
missed. Stop and inspect the majestic
Khoo Kongsi Chinese Clan House--
reputedly the most beautiful outside
China. Its intricate wood and granite
carvings and 24 stone carvings make
this a must-visit place. Continue your
journey to view the architectural
splendor of Penang's yesteryear. The
Penang Museum and Art Gallery is
housed in the remains of the original
Penang Free School. Built in 1821, the
museum houses a fine collection of
old photographs, maps, charts and
other historical relics. Travel on to
Leith Street, where you will catch a
glimpse of the Cheong Fatt Tze
Mansion. Stop for tea and refreshments
at the nostalgic Eastern &
Oriental Hotel built in 1885. Your
journey back to the port is dotted
with many colonial relics, and it's
easy to imagine life in the early days
when Malaysia was a British colony.
