Discover Miyako Island’s man-made and natural attractions on this scenic tour beginning with an exploration of the world below the water’s surface from the Sea-Sky Hakuai semi-submarine. Submerge into crystal-clear waters for exceptional views of sea turtles and colorful fish on a reef exploration.
From below the water’s surface to soaring over the tree-tops, your next stop is the Shigira Lift Ocean Sky, an 895-foot-long chair lift. It’s up, up and away for a panoramic vista of sea, sky and sprawling scenery.
Next, stop for photos at Imugya Marine Garden, a windswept seaside park offering coastal vistas, followed by mythical Cape Higashi-Hennazaki, designated a Place of Scenic Beauty. Situated at the tip of Miyako Island, this narrow peninsula features a stately lighthouse and endless ocean views.
En route back to the pier, stop at a local souvenir shop for some free time to find that perfect memento of your visit.
Notes:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Sea-Sky Hakuai (semi-submersible) cannot be accessed by wheelchair or scooter. At the Cape Higashi-Hennazaki, admission fee for the lighthouse is not included. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Tour sequence may vary. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
