Confident, poised and well-groomed, the town of St Andrews is most famous as the home of golf. It is also well known for its university — the oldest higher-learning institution in Scotland.
Board your motorcoach for a scenic panoramic drive north to this coastal town. You will make a stop to view the UNESCO World Heritage Site Forth Bridges en route.
St Andrews faces the sea from above a wide bay on the coast of Fife and has always been at the heart of Scottish history. The town takes its name from the Apostle Andrew, whose relics, according to legend, were brought here by St Rule.
A short panoramic drive will introduce you to some of the main sights of this medieval cathedral town. Afterward, you'll have free time to explore independently. You may choose to visit the R&A World Golf Museum, take time to view the Old Course, or indulge in some shopping.
On the journey back to Newhaven, you'll pause to photograph the quaint fishing town of South Queensferry and the visually stunning Forth Bridges.
Notes:
Entrances are not included. St Andrews Golf Course is an active course hosting many tournaments and events throughout the year; access to the course may be restricted. Walking on the Old Course is only permitted on Sundays. This tour does not include a round of golf.
