Venture to one of the most picturesque places in Jamaica, the Land of Wood and Water, for a uniquely Jamaican experience.
A short drive takes you through the town of Falmouth to St Peter’s Anglican Church, one of Jamaica's oldest and largest Anglican churches. The supporting columns are solid mahogany, and the floor includes crosses inlaid with mahoe and mahogany.
In the rural village of Martha Brae, stroll through Miss Martha’s Herb Garden -- a presentation of Jamaica’s herbs famous for their medicinal and healing properties.
Next up, you’re on a bamboo river raft built for two, gliding slowly down a river that meanders gently through whispering groves of bamboo and ferns. As your raft travels past shaded banks and through dappled sunlight, hear the story of the Matibereon.
Float along in a relaxing atmosphere of tranquility over the three-mile journey before arriving at the Rafter’s Rest, where the coach awaits. Next, an opportunity for some shopping as you stop at Rose Hall for some free time before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Each raft seats two people and a raft captain, with a low seatback and minimal seat cushioning. Restrooms are available at the rafters' village. There may be a short wait as you board your raft. Maximum weight is 250 lbs per person. Minimum age is 3 years.
