This half-day excursion combines the charms of Mexico old and new, beginning with a drive through Marina Vallarta village. Then, you will travel north to the countryside, driving through the quaint town of Ixtapa -- one of the few remaining farming areas around Puerto Vallarta.
Visit the Hacienda Doña Engracia tequila factory and learn about the process of converting the blue agave cactus into world-class tequila. Sample various grades and flavors of Mexico's favorite liquor.
Browse for souvenirs en route to central Puerto Vallarta.
In the downtown area, your guide leads you on foot through charming cobblestone streets to the beautiful and popular Malecón (waterfront promenade). You will visit the Cathedral of our Lady of Guadalupe and the Old Town City Hall, with its magnificent waterfront views.
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
Notes:
Modest attire is required for visiting the cathedral; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered; shorts are not allowed. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Walking over cobblestones is required. Minimum age to taste tequila is 21 years.
