In 1494, when the Spaniards "discovered" Jamaica for Europe, they named Ocho Rios for the eight rivers they saw here. Explore the beautiful White River today.
Listen to a safety briefing from experienced guides, who will also outfit you with safety equipment for the journey ahead.
This three-mile tube ride down the White River not only imparts the rich history of Jamaica but also shows off the beauty of the landscape as you pass through coconut plantations and bamboo groves and along riverbanks filled with indigenous flora and fauna. Take a step back in time when your adventure begins at the 17th-century landmark Spanish Bridge -- a sight you can only see from the river.
The real adventure lies in the river’s many moods, which will bring you to challenging rapids and enchanting lagoons. The ride takes you between two of the island’s most scenic parishes and breathtaking views and vistas.
The architecture at the landing facility emulates a traditional Jamaican village. You'll have time to stop by the Parrot Bar and refresh yourself with a cool drink (at your own expense) or browse in the Valley Trader gift shop.
