The ship's tender transfers you directly from the ship to Santorini's most famous and most photographed village. Oia (pronounced ee-ah), located on the northern tip of Santorini, is a postcard waiting to happen, with its stunning whitewashed housed toed into the cliffside, blue-domed churches, and impossibly narrow flagstone streets.
The 20-minute ride brings you to the picturesque port of Ammoudi, tucked beneath the village of Oia. A very short shuttle ride brings you to the village, where you will have free time to explore at your leisure.
At the designated time, board a coach for the scenic drive to Santorini's main town of Fira. Here you'll again explore at your leisure before taking the cable car down the hill to the tender pier. You'll find that the ship has sailed from Oia to Fira to meet you.
Notes:
It is approx. 400mtrs (1 ship length) walk to reach the shuttle for the trip to Oia. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain is narrow cobblestone streets with numerous inclines and steps. The return to the ship will be by using the cable car in Fira Town to reach the port and then a tender. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Expect lines at the cable car - the wait can be in excess of 60 minutes. Expect some waiting time at the port of Ammoudi before the transfer to the village of Oia. Some stores, tavernas and cafes in Fira and Oia close in November.
