From Lahaina Harbor, transfer around the island to the bike base. Listen to a safety briefing here and enjoy coffee, juice and snacks before setting out in the van with the bikes in a trailer.
The van climbs a winding road to 6,500 feet above sea level. Your guide provides an informative commentary on the local geology, plant life and resident animal and bird species.
At the launch point, put on a helmet and take off on the 14-mile bike ride down a road that includes thrilling switchbacks and stunning views.
Pass through Haleakala Ranch and the upcountry town of Kula before you coast into Hali'imaile -- home of the historic General Store.
A road transfer returns you to the ship in Lahaina.
