Leave the ship in the afternoon, crossing the desert of Dubai with photo stops en route.
An exciting dune drive brings you to a camel farm. Learn about these magnificent beasts that are used for racing, freighting and as pets. They are often called the ship of the desert -- a reflection of their importance to Arabian trade, and of the rocking motion experienced when riding them.
On a drive across the desert, watch the beautiful sunset before reaching a desert campsite. Make the most of this opportunity to ride a camel and to try sand boarding. You may also want to try out a henna design on your hands or feet (at your own expense).
A delicious barbecue dinner is served, and you'll have a chance to try a sheesha (an Arabian water pipe) in accordance with local tradition.
Watch a belly dancer performing around the campfire by starlight.
Notes:
The safari involves off-road driving through rugged country. Ride will be bumpy. Pregnant women or guests with back or neck conditions are not allowed to participate. Minimum age is 4 years. Participants must wear a seat belt. Restroom facilities at the campsite are limited and rather basic.
Ramadan notes:
If this tour happens during Ramadan there will be no entertainment at the desert campsite, including belly dancing.
