Experience the atmosphere of a genuine Adriatic village -- Croatian specialties and traditions are alive and well in the Konavle Valley.
Your adventure begins with a drive by air-conditioned motorcoach through a chain of villages in the Konavle Valley to Brajkovici Village.
Your guide walks you through the 2000-year history of Konavle before you board the road train that will intimately acquaint you with this bread-basket region.
Descending into the heart of the valley, you will visit a few wineries and cellars to taste some of the region's best wines. Enjoy a typical 'peasant' lunch -- bacon and onion with bread and local olive oils -- along with excellent wines. The farm workers eat this when working in the fields, and as simple as it sounds, it's delicious.
You'll stop in the village of Ljuta and visit the old mill here. Learn how flour was made in the past, and just a few yards away, you will see how wool is prepared for market and for spinning and knitting. Your host, dressed in national costume, offers a brief explanation.
A scenic drive brings you back to the ship.
