Travel across the fertile Campidano plains, passing through vineyards and fields of grain en route to San Luri.
San Luri is one of the most important towns in the new province of Medio. It owes its fame to the exquisite medieval Castle of Eleonora, built by the Pisans and extensively altered in 1355 by Pietro IV of Aragon. The Spanish king considered San Luri the main seat of the Kingdom of Sardinia and Corsica. Today you will explore the only intact castle on Sardinia.
You will return to Cagliari and the ship afterwards.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Participants must negotiate uneven surfaces, steps and inclines to reach the castle. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars.
