This 4x4 safari hosted by an English-speaking driver, takes you to the WWF Monte Arcosu Nature Reserve. Along the way, you will stop at the Santa Gilla ponds to admire the flamingos and other wading birds (seasonal).
Upon arrival at the Monte Arcosu Nature Reserve, located in northwesternmost corner of the island, discover an ecosystem of splendid holm-oak forests carpeting lonely valleys, and rocky ridges that are home to the endangered Sardinian deer. Leave your transportation and walk with your guide along trails surrounded by beautiful and fragrant Mediterranean vegetation. Keep your eyes open -- there a chance of seeing the Sardinian deer and hearing its little sound. Your easy walk gives you a chance to contemplate the fascinatingly wild and isolated nature of this small corner of heaven. It is also home to fallow deer, wild boar, large hares, wild cats and numerous avian species, including the partridge and golden eagle.
Enjoy a snack of Sardinian products before you return to the ship.
Notes:
Wear sturdy walking shoes. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
