The Monastery of St Andrew is famous for housing a bizarre relic -- the locals here claim that it is the sole of St Andrew's right foot. During the 1953 earthquake, the whitewashed covering of the inside of the church was loosened and revealed frescoes dating back to the 13th and 17th centuries. These are now considered to be the island's prime artistic treasure. From here you have unique views to St. George Castle. Do not miss the opportunity to capture this historical monument with your cameras.
Visit Rombola Winery and gain an insight into the production methods of the famous and rare Rombola wine made from a local species of grape, which comes in red, white and sweet Muscat. You will have a chance to taste some varieties.
Kourkoumelata was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1953. A wealthy local citizen financed the whole village to be reconstructed in neo-Classical style. Wander through the village and admire the sweeping views of the sea below before you return to the port.
