Board a local charter boat at the pier and begin your day with a journey to Lokobe National Park along the east coast of Nosy Be, skirting the Lokobe evergreen forest.

Upon arrival at Ambatozavavy village, you'll hop into a canoe and begin your adventure. Cross the mangrove forest in search of birds -- terns, cormorants, green shanks and more. Visit the Sakalava huts to meet the Natives and understand a little of their culture.

Next, you'll walk with your guide into the old-growth forest. Keep an eye out for boa constrictors, green geckos, rock lizards, chameleons (good luck spotting them!), and black and brown lemurs.

Following your forest walk, enjoy some free time to rest at the lodge, stroll the beautiful white sand beach or take a swim. Gather on the beach for a delicious barbecue lunch -- a women's folksong and -dance group will entertain you as you eat.

Finally, return to Andoany and the ship.
