Hop aboard a speedboat and head along the east coast of Nosy Be, skirting the Lokobe evergreen forest. You're headed to Ampangoriana village -- the capital of Nosy Komba. Walk about 500 yards through the fisherman's village with time to browse for souvenirs and mingle with the locals along the way.

At the Black Lemur Sanctuary, learn how to spot the males and females as you watch them climbing and lounging in the trees -- the females are brown and males are black. Although these animals live strictly in the wild, they are quite friendly and are acclimated to the presence of humans. If they think there's a treat in store for them they will often jump onto visitors' arms or shoulders.

Next up, continue your boat ride to Nosy Tanikely Maritime National Park. Hop overboard and enjoy snorkeling, swimming or lounging on the beach. This small island is famous for its clear water and beautiful coral reefs. The underwater park is a virtual aquarium -- the domain of colorful parrot- and angelfish, sea turtles and other marine creatures.

At the nearby lighthouse, a colony of fruit bats snooze away the day.

Lunch is served on the beach before you return to Nosy Be by served on the beach before you return to Nosy Be by boat.

Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen and a hat.
