Meet yr guide at the pier and board basic transportation for drive to the far side of Qaqortoq.

Begin your hike here, setting out on the trail that leads around the large lake behind the town. Your guide will tell you all about the Greenland's natural environment -- the vegetation, native and endemic animals, and how the lake is made by the Inland Ice Sheet.

Along the way, you'll stop to take photos and to inhale the marvelous fresh air of Greenland's great outdoors. Your companion is the all-encompassing silence of the Arctic landscape.

This pleasant hike in the Arctic offers a view of the tundra and majestic landscapes that are quite different in character from elsewhere.


Wear sturdy, non-skid walking shoes. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Not suitable for guests who suffer from asthma or heart or back conditions.
