Once a village but now a sprawling city, Sorrento occupies a top-notch location on the beautiful coastline of the world-famous Sorrentine Peninsula and, in its heart, retains the atmosphere of the small town it once was.

Transfer by minibus from the port to Piazza Sant'Antonino. From here you'll set out on a 45-minute walking tour along the Via San Cesareo and through Sorrento's historic center. This brief orientation is followed by a demonstration of inlaid woodwork art.

Next, on a scenic drive, you'll discover that the entire Sorrentine Peninsula area is characterized by impossibly narrow roads winding haphazardly along the side of rocky cliffs that seem to hover above the sea. Each twist and turn offers new and breathtaking views of the Italian Riviera. Marvel at the rocks rising out of the sea like strange mythological creatures, and you'll see colorful small boats in bobbing like toys in sheltered sandy coves. You'll stop at a vantage point to capture some photos of the dazzling Amalfi Coast.

Returning to Sorrento with a drive through the hills, you will visit a woodcraft center. Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.

The roads on the Amalfi Coast are narrow and winding -- guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. You may be required to stand during the minibus transfer from the pier.
