Come experience the Anchorage craft beer scene in style, as you join a knowledgeable tour 'hoperator' for an off-the-beaten-track tour of Anchorage and its burgeoning local craft brewery industry. With a maximum group size of no more than 12, this small-group outing ensures a personalized experience full of foamy fun. Meet brewers and enjoy a minimum of 12 beer tastings.

The King Street Brewing Company, founded in 2010, offers a new, modern tasting room for on-site sampling. There are six year-round brews (APA, Czech Pilsner, IPA, Blonde Ale, Irish Stout and Bavarian Hefeweizen) and several seasonal offerings and barrel-aged selections.

Anchorage's old-guard Midnight Sun Brewing Company has been pioneering brewing styles and methods for more than two decades. Known for its hearty flavors, the brewery creates barrel-aged stouts and barley wines, beers that are appropriate for a less-than-temperate climate and long, dark winter nights. Enjoy a selection of light culinary fare from the second-floor loft.

The Resolution Brewing Company is a nod to Captain James Cook's favorite ship, the HMS Resolution. The good captain was not able to locate the fabled Northwest Passage, but he did stumble upon spruce tips as a key ingredient to brewing beer -- a recipe that was designed to ward off scurvy in his crew. Today, your own risk of scurvy is obviously quite high, so your only option is to drink up! Resolution's unassuming location fools many, but once you step inside, you will encounter masterful, Belgian-inspired beers crafted with creativity and passion. Cap off your tour with a sampling from this small-batch brew house.
