Come to the Klondike Gold Fields where photographs, artifacts and interpretive displays bring the past to life and immerse you in the wild history of the Klondike Gold Rush. Your adventure begins as you journey through the historic streets of downtown Skagway past wooden walkways to Dredge Town.

Meet a dog-sled musher who will show you a video presentation that introduces you to dogs of the Klondike Gold Rush and explains the sport of winter dog-sledding today. Meet and interact with the Iditarod sled dogs and their puppies, stopping first at the checkpoint tent with your musher. See all the gear a musher and dog team take with them on a long-distance race such the Iditarod. Your musher will introduce you to the dog team; then (s)he will hook the dogs to a sled so you can watch a demonstration run. Upon the musher's return, you're invited to interact with the dogs and hold the puppies.

Feel the cold of an Iditarod race and experience the thrill of 40 degrees below zero for yourself. Suit up in parka and step into the 'cold chamber' for an instant deep-freeze effect. Watch water evaporate instantly and experience other memorable features of the extreme cold -- a chilling experience!

Warm up with a little gold fever. Your Gold Rush experience isn't complete until you meet a cast of costumed characters for a chance to claim your fortune at Dredge Town. Learn the art of panning for gold while you practice your technique in warm-water troughs. You can count on striking gold. Haul your swag into the Assayers' Office and have it weighed -- you can keep whatever you find. Then, take advantage of some free time to browse in the Gold Parlor for fine jewelry and gold nuggets. The Gold Shack offers fresh-baked sweets (at your own expense) and gifts galore.

You'll have time to purchase a snack and beverage at Gold Rush Restaurant & Brewery (at your own expense) or just relax along the river enjoying the mountain views.

Your tour concludes as you re-board your motor coach, a little bit richer after gold panning, for the short ride back to the ship. If you choose to stay past your departure time,

Dredge Town provides a free shuttle ride (every 30 minutes) back to the ship or to the center of town.
