Approximately 4 Hours
Board a motor coach for a ride out to the Saanich Peninsula and the amazing Butchart Gardens -- a National Historic Site of Canada.
You’ll find yourself surrounded by 55 acres of some of the most lavish and lush landscaped grounds in the world. Colorful blooms, rare flowers and themed gardens greet you as you meander through the property over footbridges, passing cascading fountains and charming lily ponds.
A 1¾-hour, self-guided tour gives you ample time to appreciate the splendor and to purchase refreshments (at your own expense) from one of several eating establishments. You may also want to browse the well-appointed gift shop for souvenirs commemorating this wonderful evening.
At dusk, the gardens are transformed by hundreds of lights of varying intensity and color. This ‘Night Illuminations’ presentation is as unique as it is breathtaking. The magnificent Rose Fountain -- the centerpiece of these lush gardens -- dances with creative lighting while outdoor entertainment accompanies the effects. Next up is the famous Butchart Gardens Fireworks -- a beautifully choreographed, dazzling display of ground-level and aerial pyrotechnics, performed on Saturday evenings throughout July and August. At the conclusion of your magical evening, return to downtown Victoria and the port.
Guests with mobility limitations and guests using a wheelchair must contact the on-board Shore Excursions Office at least 48 hours prior to the excursion to make special arrangements. Wear layered clothing with a warm outer layer. You may wish to bring a blanket or cover to sit on the ground. Use of iPads, tablets, mobile phones and selfie sticks is not allowed.
