Aland by Bike
Information not currently available.
Approximately 4 Hours
Biking through Åland is a wonderful way to get acquainted with the island. It's not too demanding and comes as a package deal with clean, fresh archipelago air. After making adjustments to your bike and listening to safety briefing, set off through the city and out into the countryside of the Åland Islands, which are joined by bridges.
You will pass summer green meadows and typical homes by the sea in the archipelago. Ride over several bridges to the Järsö area -- an island south of Mariehamn which is known for its beautiful archipelago community with red-painted farmhouses.
You will stop for a snack at a café where you will taste the local specialty -- Åland pancakes with strawberry jam.
The route is approximately 15.5 miles long and requires some physical effort; however, there are not many hills to climb and the landscape is relatively flat. Bottled water is provided. Participants should be competent cyclists and confident on a bicycle. Recommended for guests who are physically fit. A helmet is provided and must be worn. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be cancelled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions.
