Begin your tour with a shuttle ride to the downtown core; then, set out on a stroll through the city of Skagen. Accompanied by your local guide, you'll discover why Skagen is deemed a painters' paradise. It was once a favored summer resort for intellectuals, and became an artists' community in the early 17th century. Known for its unique bright light found nowhere else in Denmark, Skagen still continues to attract artists and painters looking for tranquility and inspiration.

On your way to the Skagen Art Museum, take in the peaceful atmosphere and learn about the works of famous artists. Enjoy the masterpieces at your leisure and observe how the contrasts of light, shadows and movement feature heavily in these paintings.

Now it's your turn! Head to the art studio within the museum -- the very place where, for more than hundred years, Skagen painters have created color on canvas. An artist guide will be the catalyst for your inner-artist, helping you to transform your impressions to colors and shades on the canvas, resulting in your very own Skagen painting. At the end of the session, your masterpiece is framed, and delivered to the ship.

No prior painting experience is required; this is a chance for complete beginners to enjoy painting. This is a walking tour that starts with a shuttle ride into town. The approximate walking distance on this tour is just over two miles.
