The Original Canopy Tour is a truly unique experience, and the perfect adrenaline shot as you soar silently through the awe-inspiring forest canopy suspended on a patented system of cables and pulleys that make you feel as though you are actually flying, with no ‘zip’ sound.

This breathtaking, half-day adventure begins with a relaxing drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside by air-conditioned coach. Your guide will point out many sights of interest including mango, sugar cane and citrus plantations and rural farming communities.

You are headed to Mahogany Park -- a private reserve, less than one hour from the pier -- where some of Costa Rica's last remaining mahogany trees flourish. These are an endangered hardwood species.

Take advantage of a short photo-stop at the top of the hill in the town of Esparza -- on a clear day you will be able to look down from the mountains towards the port of Puntarenas, and view your cruise ship in port. Upon arrival at the park, an expert guide offers an orientation and you will be fitted with your zip line harness.

Channel your inner-Tarzan as the zip-line experience takes you from tree to tree along a series of ten observation platforms (nine in the trees and one on the ground), and nine horizontal traverses.

Return to the base via a walking trail that follows a small stream. Wildlife sightings are very common -- watch for monkeys and the many species of birds that live in this spectacular environment as you head back to the bus for the return journey back to port.
