Experience St Maarten's newest attraction -- the Soualiga Sky Explorer chairlift. You'll begin at the pier, boarding air-conditioned transportation for a 30-minute ride to Rockland Estate.

Upon arrival, board a chairlift for a tranquil ride up a 2,630-foot span. As the landscape unfolds below, you're headed to the top of one of St Maarten's highest mountains for spectacular panoramic views.

At the top, head to the plantation house, built in the 1700s, to learn the powerful story of Trace Wilson. Trace was born into slavery on the estate in 1818 and his descendant, Emilio Wilson, later purchased the property to educate current and future generations about the conditions of plantation life as well as the customs, traditions and history of St Maarten. It's a marvelous story.

The next ascent begins when you hop on the Soualiga Sky Explorer for the approximately 25-minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill -- St Maarten's highest elevation at 1,125 feet. A series of platforms encircle the mountaintop show casing 360-degree views of the whole island, as well as vistas of neighboring islands Saba, St Eustatius, St Barth's and Anguilla.

When you're ready to descend, simply board the Soualiga Sky Explorer for the scenic trip down the mountain. Enjoy exploring the estate and sampling St Maarten's delicacies, snacks and beverages at the restaurant (at your own expense).

Board the air-conditioned shuttle to return to the ship.
