Enjoy and learn about Kodiak's wildlife and history from an experienced, long-time charter captain and local tour guide.

A high-speed boat takes you past Kodiak's harbors and fishing fleet. You will pass through the breathtaking scenery of the nearby islands in search of sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, and a multitude of sea birds including puffins, gulls, oyster catchers, guillemots and cormorants. You may even be lucky enough to spot a whale.

The on-board biologist guide provides a wealth of information about Kodiak's marine wildlife. (S)he will answer your questions and unravel the story of how the sea otter has shaped Kodiak's history and ecology.

Notes:

Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Maximum weight is 300 lbs. Participants must descend a ramp, which can be fairly steep at low tide, and step over a two-foot gunwale to board the boat. Dress warmly in layers. Wear a hat or beanie; bring gloves and a scarf.
