A short motor coach drive brings you to Chilkoot Lake -- one of the most picturesque locations in southeast Alaska.

Set off on a fishing expedition aboard a comfortable, 28-foot pontoon boat. There are no hatchery fish on the lake -- only wild stock. Depending on the season, several varieties of wild salmon and Dolly Varden are the likely catches.

Every fisherman is in control of his or her own spin-cast rod and reel. Your guide assists with everything from new fishing methods to untangling your lines while you relax and absorb the grandeur of the surrounding snow-clad mountains.

The tour operator is the only charter fishing company on the lake, assuring a relaxing experience without crowds. Fishing is conducted on a catch-and-release basis.

Minimum age is 5 years. Wear rubber-soled shoes and warm, layered clothing. Each boat carries a maximum of 6 guests. Fishing is conducted on a catch-and-release basis. A catch is likely but is not guaranteed. A fishing license is required and must be purchased on board the boat for $25 (cash) per person. Children under 16 years are not required to purchase a license. Each guest will be in charge of his/her own pole, and will be holding and casting it throughout the trip. Guides will re-bait and change tackle when needed. The casting is done from the deck of the boat, usually toward the pools along the shoreline. Bait fishing is done by letting the bait drop to the bottom of the lake. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed.
