An open-air pontoon boat is your transportation for a breathtaking tour of Chilkoot Lake -- one of the most picturesque locations in Southeast Alaska.

Begin with a scenic motor coach drive to Chilkoot Lake. En route, your guide shares enthralling stories of Alaskan heroes and villains, local history, Native lore and tales of the wild.

Upon arrival at the lake, switch to the open-air pontoon boat and take in views of the lake and mountains. Watch spawning sockeye salmon and the bald eagles and giant brown bears that feed upon these fish, undisturbed by your presence. Mountain goats are often seen grazing along the cliffs. Black bear and moose feed on the intermediate slopes in the late spring/early summer. Birds of all types are seen from the coastal estuary to the glacial inlet river. Virgin forests of spruce, hemlock, cottonwood and alder cloak the lower mountains while snow-capped peaks and glaciers shine above.

There are a thousand photo opportunities before your tour concludes with a scenic drive back to the pier.
